Gardenian was formed by "In Flames" old guitarist Nicklas Engelin, Gardenian (like his former band) falls into the textbook definition of the Gothenburg sound, a relatively accessible brand of progressive death metal. However Gardenian uses some clean vocals & female vocals in their songs to. After an indie album titled "Six Feet Stand", Gardenian signed with Nuclear Blast and issued "Soulburner" in mid-1999, which helped the band build a stateside following. "Sindustries" followed it up in late 2000.
